| Microplate Biomaterial Microarray (MBMTM, patent pending) is our proprietary Stem Cell Microenvironment Niche high throughput screening system which has given rise to several enabling hydrogel based methodologies for ex-vivo and in-vivo directed and controlled differentiation of human stem cells. Company is currently commercializing an aspect of this technology via its subsidiary, Restem Inc.: ![]()
A “Stem Cell Niche Therapeutics” California Corporation Restem offers innovative cell, biologicals, and small molecule therapeutics developed based on a proprietary stem cell microenvironment niche technology and for the cure of human diseases. Restem’s first product is designed for cellular repair of damaged heart muscle (perfusion defect) in acute and chronic heart failures (e.g. Acute Myocardial Infarction). This Autologous Bone Marrow Adult Stem (ABMASTM) cell therapeutic remedy for congestive heart failure is prepared using a patent pending two step separation and maintenance of adult stem cells using ex-vivo modeled microenvironment niche which is designed to maximize the efficacy of autologous adult bone marrow stem cells for repair of damaged heart tissue. Our preclinical data suggest higher efficacy due to optimum stem cell functionality for differentiation into new heart muscle, the promotion of blood vessel growth (angiogenesis), and prevention of cell death in the damaged areas. Limited pilot testing with human samples has provided further support for this optimum capability of ABMASTM for repair of damaged heart muscle after heart attack. Restem is currently planning pilot Phase I clinical trial studies in collaboration with Intervention cardiologists. Restem’s management team consists of a group of well seasoned and talented MD, PhD, JD, and MBA biotechnology, pharmaceutical, university, hospital, and clinical professionals with a combined experience exceeding 100 years in fields related to company’s focus on therapeutic development and commercialization strategies. Restem’s competitor and/or collaborator groups include Stem Cell Therapeutic Companies (e.g. Mytogen/ Advanced Cell Technologies, Osiris, Cytori), Big Pharma (e.g. Baxter), and Hospital Bone Marrow Centers. We are seeking investment in the company which will result in a key milestone, the completion of Phase I clinical trials of ABMASTM. Company founder has made an initial investment in the company meeting working capital requirements to date. Technology development has also benefited from NIH (NHLBI, NCRR) Phase I & II SBIR Grants to parent company, BioArray Technologies, Inc.
